Event comments put a conversation under the player on every event’s watch page. They’re off until an administrator switches them on. Once they’re on, anyone with comment moderation on their role can review them in Studio → Library → Comments, the same queue used for article comments.

Switch comments on

  1. 1
    Open Features

Go to Studio → System → Settings, choose the Content group and the Features tab.

  2. 2
    Turn on Event comments

Switch on Event comments (“Let viewers comment on event watch pages.”). It’s off by default.

  3. 3
    Decide on approval

Auto-approve comments is off by default, so new comments wait for review. Switch it on to publish instantly. The setting covers article comments too.

The Studio
Studio → System → Settings → Content → Features, with Event comments on and Auto-approve comments off.

What viewers can do

  • Viewers must be signed in to post; everyone else sees “Log in to join the conversation.”
  • A comment can be up to 2,000 characters.
  • Replies go one level deep: a reply to a reply joins the same thread.
  • Signed-in viewers can react with like, love, laugh or wow.
  • While a comment waits for review, only its author sees it, with “Your comment is awaiting approval.”
  • Staff comments publish immediately and carry a Staff badge.

Moderate comments

  1. 1
    Open the queue

Go to Studio → Library → Comments. The banner tells you whether auto-approve is on. When it’s off, the page opens on Pending.

  2. 2
    Show event comments only

Click Events in the type filter, and use the search box to find a comment or a user.

  3. 3
    Act on one comment

Use the tick to approve, the cross to reject or the bin to delete. The On: link under each comment opens the event it was posted on.

  4. 4
    Act on many

Tick several comments, then use Approve selected, Reject selected or Delete selected. Deleting always asks you to confirm.

The Studio
Studio → Library → Comments on the Pending tab filtered to Events, three comments selected and the bulk action bar showing.
