Set who can watch an event and what it costs
Choose one of the four access models for an event, set its plans or ticket price, and see what a blocked viewer is offered.
Every event has one of 4 access models, set in its Access control card. Browsing always stays open: listings and event pages are visible to everyone, which helps sharing and search. The check only happens when someone presses play, and a blocked viewer is always offered the one thing that gets them in.
The four access models
| Access tile | Who can watch | Extra fields | Shown on the Events list as |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free — anyone can watch | Everyone, with no sign-in (unless the site-wide sign-in requirement is on) | None | Free |
| Subscription — paid plan required | Signed-in viewers with an active plan, or only the plans you name | Restrict to specific plans (optional) | Sub |
| PPE — one-time purchase | Signed-in viewers who bought a ticket for this event | PPE price, Access window (hours), PPE description (shown at checkout) | PPV and the price |
| Subscription OR PPE | Subscribers on a matching plan, plus anyone who buys a ticket | Both sets of fields | Sub + PPV |
Set access on an event
- 1Open the event
Go to Studio → Content → Events and click the pencil on the event.
- 2Pick the model
In Access control, click one of the four Access tiles.
- 3Limit the plans
For Subscription or Subscription OR PPE, pick plans in Restrict to specific plans (optional). Leave it empty to let any active subscription in.
- 4Price the ticket
For PPE or Subscription OR PPE, enter the PPE price and the Access window (hours), from 1 to 8760 (a year). The window starts at 24.
- 5Explain what they’re buying
Put what the ticket covers, for example “Live game only”, in the event’s description, where buyers can read it. Buyers don’t see the PPE description (shown at checkout) field. Then click SAVE CHANGES.

| Subscription required | They don’t hold a plan that covers the event | Subscribe |
| Pay-per-event required | They haven’t bought a ticket | Buy one-time access, with the hours shown |
| Too many devices | They’re entitled, but over their plan’s device limit | Manage devices and sign one out |
