Share and promote an event
Use the event key, the Share button, the automatic homepage slide and the programme guide to get viewers to your broadcast.
Promotion starts the moment you save an event. Its page is public and shareable from day one, a homepage hero slide and a programme guide listing are created for you, and viewers who save it get reminders. This page covers each tool and the gotchas that come with the automatic ones.
What you have to promote with
| Tool | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Event key | Top of the event form, with Copy; under the title on the Events list | A permanent 10-character code that identifies the event in its watch link |
| Share button | The public event page and watch page | Copy the link, or share to Facebook, X, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit or email |
| Homepage hero slide | Studio → Home → Sliders | Created with the event and kept in step with it until the event ends |
| Programme guide listing | The public programme guide | Added while the event is Active, removed when it isn’t |
| SEO fields | The SEO card on the event form | The title and description search engines and link previews use |
| Reminders | Sent to viewers who save the event | 15 minutes before the start and when it goes live |
Share the event
- 1Get the key
Open the event in Studio → Content → Events and click Copy in the Event key banner.
- 2Share the page
Click the eye icon on the event’s row (View public), then Share on the public page. Use Copy for the link, or pick a network.
- 3Fill in the SEO card
Before you post, set SEO title and SEO description on the event so the link preview reads well.
Work with the automatic hero slide
- 1Save the event as Active
The slide appears in Studio → Home → Sliders, showing that it’s auto-synced from an event. It uses the event’s Title, Short description and Banner (or Poster), with a Watch now button.
- 2Change the slide through the event
To reword the slide, edit the event and save. Changes made on the slide itself are overwritten the next time the event is saved.
- 3Set how far ahead the hero looks
At the top of Studio → Home → Sliders, set Hero timeframe to All time, Next 24 hours, Next 3 days, Next week or Custom. The card shows how many active slides are in the hero right now.
