Run an event on the day
Check an event before it starts, watch it from Event Hub while it’s on air, and fix the problems that come up during a live broadcast.
On this page
This is the producer’s page for match night. It assumes the event is already created and its source chosen. Event Hub needs Event Hub access on your role, and Automatic and CamScheduler events are watched from there. Manual events are watched through their feed in Studio → Feed Console → Feed Hub.
Run of show
| When | Check | Where |
|---|---|---|
| The day before | Status is Active, times are right on your platform’s clock, access and price are set | Studio → Content → Events and Events Calendar |
| An hour before | The encoder or camera has the right push address and key | Event Hub → Details → Ingest configuration |
| 5 minutes before | “Event going live in 5 min” arrives for Automatic events | The notification bell |
| Start | The card shows LIVE and the preview is moving | Studio → Feed Console → Event Hub |
| On air | Viewers, bitrate and resolution hold steady | Event Hub → Details |
| End | Stop the encoder after the end time. The event retires on its own. | — |
Watch the broadcast from Event Hub
- 1Open Event Hub
Go to Studio → Feed Console → Event Hub. The header cards count Total events, Live now, Upcoming and Ingest URLs.
- 2Find your event
Search by title, key or team, narrow the list with the source filter (for example Automatic or CamScheduler), and switch between Cards and Table.
- 3Keep it fresh
Leave Auto refresh on so states and previews update without reloading. Each card shows LIVE, UPCOMING, ENDED or UNSCHEDULED.
- 4Open the details
Click Details for the event. You get the live picture, 8 statistic tiles (including Viewers, Bitrate (Mbps), Resolution and Broadcast window) and a Performance chart.
Send the same broadcast to other platforms
The Restream panel on an event’s Details page pushes its incoming stream to other platforms at the same time, across 6 destination types including Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, X and a custom destination. You can switch each one on or off during the broadcast. By default an event can have up to 5. Destinations are stopped automatically when the event ends. See Streaming to several platforms at once.
Fix problems during a broadcast
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The watch page shows a connecting panel after the start | The encoder isn’t sending, or the key is wrong | Compare the encoder with Ingest configuration on the Details page and restart the stream |
| “Active automatic-event quota reached” when you activate an event | Too many Automatic or CamScheduler events are inside their windows | Let one end, or set a finished one to Inactive |
| The event ends while you’re still on air | The end time was too early | Change Ends from the Events list straight away. Viewers are sent back to the event page when the end passes. |
| A viewer who paid sees “Too many devices” | They’re over their plan’s device limit | Ask them to sign out another device from their account |
| Viewers see the event as Upcoming at kickoff | The time was typed on a different clock | Correct the start time on your platform’s clock |
