Create an event
Create a live event, set its schedule, source and access, and publish its page with a hero slide and guide listing.
On this page
An event turns something real, like a game, a service, a concert or a graduation, into a broadcast page with a countdown, a player and a replay. Producers and athletic directors create them in Studio → Content → Events. You need events access on your role, and the Events module must be switched on.
Before you start
- At least one category exists. Every event needs one (see Categories, genres & taxonomy).
- For a Manual event, the camera or signal already exists as a feed in Studio → Feed Console → Feeds.
- For subscription access, your plans exist in Studio → Management → Subscription Plans.
- For tickets, a payment provider is connected (see Connecting Stripe, PayPal & Square).
Fill in the basics
- 1Start a new event
Go to Studio → Content → Events and click New event.
- 2Name it
In the Identity card, type the Title. Add a Short description, which also becomes the line under the title on the homepage slide, and a full Description.
- 3Schedule it
In Schedule, set Start date & time, End date & time and Duration (minutes). Add the Venue so viewers know where it’s happening. Read Scheduling, countdowns & timezones before you pick a Timezone.
- 4Categorise it
Choose a Category. Optionally pick a Companion radio station, and on a sports platform add Team tags and Roster tags.
Set the source, access and artwork
- 1Check the status
In the Status card, leave ACTIVE selected to publish, or pick INACTIVE to keep the event off the site while you work on it.
- 2Add artwork
In Media, click PICK for Poster (square) and Banner (wide). Leave them empty and the platform generates artwork from the event’s details.
- 3Choose the source
In Stream, pick a Source mode and fill in the fields it shows. The three ways to go live compares them.
- 4Choose who can watch
In Access control, pick one of the four access options and fill in any plan or price fields (see Access & pricing models).
- 5Finish and save
Optionally set Content rating, Genres, Cast & Crew and the SEO fields, then click SAVE CHANGES.
What saving creates for you

|---|---|---|
| Event key | The banner at the top of the event form (with Copy) and under the title on the Events list | Permanent, never changes |
| Homepage hero slide | Studio → Home → Sliders, marked as auto-synced | Yes, until the event ends |
| Programme guide listing | The public programme guide (when Schedule is switched on) | Yes |
| Generated artwork | The Media card, when you didn’t upload any | Regenerated if team details change |
| “Event created” notification | The bell, for staff with events access | One-off |
