My shared link or search result shows the wrong title or image

Quick answer

A shared link shows the item’s own title, short description and artwork. Fix those on the item, make sure it’s published, and share a fresh link — apps and social networks remember old previews for a while.

Check this first

  1. 1
Work out which link it is

Event, on-demand, show and product links use the item’s title, short description and artwork. An article uses its title, Excerpt and Cover image. A page uses its Meta title, Meta description and Social share image (URL).

  2. 2
    Fix the item and save

Open the item, correct its title and short description, and check its artwork. An event uses its banner before its poster; a video or show uses its backdrop before its poster.

  3. 3
    Check it’s published

A draft or archived event, or an article that isn’t published, shares as a plain link with no preview of its own.

  4. 4
    Test with a fresh link

Paste the address into a new conversation in a messaging app. A link shared earlier can keep its old preview.
