I changed my logo or colours, but my site still shows the old ones
Colours only change after you click Apply colors, and light and dark mode each have their own logo. Once you’ve saved, reload your site in a private window — browsers hold on to old copies, especially the favicon.
Check this first
- 1Confirm the save
In Studio → System → Settings → Appearance → Theme, picking a colour only changes the preview. Click Apply colors — the Studio confirms “Theme colors saved”.
- 2Check the mode you’re viewing
Appearance → Branding has Logo (Dark mode) and Logo (Light mode). If you replaced one, look at your site in that mode. With no light-mode logo, the dark-mode logo is used in both.
- 3Reload the site
Reload your public site, or switch away from its tab and back. The site picks up saved settings when the tab regains focus.
- 4Rule out your browser
Open your site in a private window. If the new logo shows there, your usual browser is showing an old copy and will catch up.
Likely cause → fix
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Colours are back to how they were | Colours were picked but not applied | Pick them again and click Apply colors. |
| The logo is right in dark mode but wrong in light mode | The light-mode slot is empty or holds an older logo | Upload a version under Logo (Light mode). |
| The logo has a solid box behind it | A large PNG was converted to JPEG during compression, which drops transparency | Upload the logo as SVG, or as a PNG well under 500 KB. |
| The browser tab still shows the old icon | Browsers often hold on to an old favicon | Check in a private window or another browser. Your visitors’ browsers update in time. |
| Your logo isn’t on the video | The player watermark is off, or has no image | On the Branding screen, upload a Player watermark, turn on Show watermark on the player and click Save changes. |
| The Studio looks different from the site | The Studio’s light/dark switch is your own view | It never changes your public site. Check the site itself. |
