Setting up your platform

Set up search and social previews

Control your browser-tab title, the description search engines show and the image that appears when your site is shared.

Set this up before launch and revisit it whenever your branding changes. Your public site is readable by search engines, and links to your events, videos, shows, episodes, articles, products, live channels and pages each carry their own preview when pasted into social media or a messaging app. The site-wide fields need access to Settings; editors fill in the fields on each item.

Set the site-wide defaults

  1. 1
    Open SEO

Go to Studio → System → Settings → Appearance → SEO.

  2. 2
    Set the site title

Enter Site title (browser tab). A preview of the browser tab appears under the field. Leave it empty to keep the built-in default.

  3. 3
    Pick a separator

Set the Title separator placed between a page name and your site title, as in “Events — Your Site”.

The Studio
Studio → System → Settings → Appearance → SEO, with a site title entered and the browser-tab preview showing below it
  1. 1
    Write the description

Enter a Meta description of about 150–160 characters. Search engines can show it under your title.

  2. 2
    Add keywords

List Meta keywords separated by commas or one per line. The counter shows how many you’ve added, and duplicates are removed when you save.

  3. 3
    Choose the share image

Under Social share image, click Pick image and choose from your Media Library. Most social networks and messaging apps don’t pick it up, so a shared homepage link shows your site title without an image.

  4. 4
    Save

Click Save changes. The new title and tags apply across your public site immediately.
