Choose the right content type

Decide whether something should be an event, a channel, an on-demand title, a show, an article or a page before you build it.

Every piece of content in MediaCore2 has a type, and each type behaves differently: when it goes public, how it’s sold, what happens when it ends. Pick the right one before you build your first season, series or channel.

Decide in three questions

  1. 1
Does it happen at a set time?

If it starts and ends at a time you can put in a calendar, make it an event, even when the camera is unattended. Events carry the countdown, the ticket and the replay.

  2. 2
    Is it always on?

A camera or signal that runs all day is a live channel. A channel you want to fill from recordings is a playout channel.

  3. 3
    Is it already recorded?

A one-off recording is an on-demand title. Recordings that belong to a numbered series are episodes of a show. Anything read rather than watched is an article.
