Scoring & sports
I need to change a final score that’s locked
Quick answer
Only an administrator can reopen a finalized game. They sign in to the scoring app with their own Admin account, reopen the event, fix the score and finalize it again.
Check this first
- 1Confirm the right result
Agree the correct score with the officials or the scorebook before anyone reopens anything.
- 2Find an administrator
Someone with the Admin role signs in to the scoring app. A scorer can’t reopen, whatever their role holds.
- 3Check the event is still set up for scoring
Reopening is refused while the event is Inactive or its live scoring tile is off. Fix both in Studio → Content → Events first.
- 4Reopen, correct, finalize
Reopen the event, fix the score, clock or period, then finalize it again.
- 5Check the public page
Open the event page. The matchup card shows the corrected final at its next update.
Likely cause and fix
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “This event has been finalized and can no longer be edited.” | The final is locked | Ask an administrator to reopen it |
| A message that only an administrator may reopen | The signed-in account isn’t an Admin | Sign in to the app with an Admin account |
| You typed the right score in the event form, but the card still shows the old one | On a phone-scored event, the card shows the scoring app’s result | Reopen the event in the app and correct it there |
| Reopening is refused | The event is Inactive, or live scoring is switched off | Set Status to Active, switch the tile on, save and reopen again |
