Run the scoreboard from a phone

Give a scorer their own login, switch live scoring on for the event, and drive the score, clock and period from the venue.

Phone scoring suits a volunteer, a stats keeper or a producer sitting courtside. Your scorer gets a login that only touches the score. They can’t see billing, content or settings, and nobody has to share an administrator password.

Before game day: give your scorer a login

  1. 1
    Check the scoring role

Go to Studio → Management → Roles & Permissions. Your platform comes with a ready-made scoring role that holds the live scoring permissions and nothing else. You can also tick those permissions on a role you built yourself; on screen, each one starts with the scoring app’s name. Only administrators can open this page.

  2. 2
    Create the scorer’s account

Go to Studio → Management → Staff Members, add the scorer with their email address and a password, and assign the scoring role.

  3. 3
Switch live scoring on for the event

In Studio → Content → Events, open the event, switch on the live scoring tile in the Integrations card, set Status to Active and save.

  4. 4
    Sign in on the phone

The scorer opens the live scoring app and signs in with the same email and password. If your crew doesn’t have the app yet, ask your TKDS contact.

During the game

  1. 1
    Pick the event

The app lists only events that are Active with live scoring switched on. If a game is missing, check both settings on the event.

  2. 2
    Keep the score

Tap each side’s score up or down. The first change switches viewers’ matchup card from the countdown to the live score.

  3. 3
    Run the clock

Start and stop the clock, counting up or down. Viewers’ clocks keep running between score updates.

  4. 4
    Set the period

Give the period any label your sport uses: Q3, Half 2, Set 4, Inning 5.

  1. 1
Add added time or a shoot-out

For football (soccer), the scorer can show an amber added-time chip with its own running clock, and a penalty shoot-out strip with a dot for each kick: scored, missed or still to come.

  2. 2
    Lock the final

When officials confirm the result, finalize the event. The score freezes. See Finalizing & correcting a score.

If two people score the same game

Each change is checked against the latest score before it’s accepted. If another phone got there first, the second phone is stopped, told the event was updated from another device, and shown the current score. Two changes sent at exactly the same moment can still both be saved, so agree who is scoring and have a backup scorer take over only when asked.
