Create a discount code
Create a percentage-off code for your subscription plans, limit how often and how long it can be used, and track redemptions.
Discount codes suit sponsor promotions (“SPONSOR20”), launch offers and on-air call-to-actions. A code takes a percentage off a subscription plan at checkout. Codes don’t work on store orders or event tickets, so use sale prices for merchandise.
Create a code
- 1Open Coupons
Go to Studio → Management → Coupons and click New coupon.
- 2Enter the code
Type the Coupon code viewers will enter, such as SUMMER50. Codes aren’t case-sensitive, so “summer50” works too.
- 3Set the discount
Enter Discount % from 1 to 100. At 100 the form shows a Free badge: the code turns checkout into an instant free activation with no payment step.
- 4Add a note
Use Description to record who the code is for. It’s only shown to staff.
- 1Limit redemptions
Enter a Usage limit, or leave it empty for unlimited use.
- 2Set an expiry
Pick an Expires on date. The code stops working at the start of that day, midnight on your site’s clock, and then shows as Expired.
- 3Choose the plans
Under Applies to, choose Every plan, or Selected plans and tick them under Choose plans.
- 4Activate and save
Leave the status on ACTIVE and save. Set it to Inactive to pause a code without deleting it.
Manage your codes
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Code | The code viewers type |
| Off | The percentage discount |
| Plans | Every plan, or the plans it’s limited to |
| Usage | How many times it’s been used, against its limit |
| Status | Active, Inactive or Expired |
Filter the list by All, Active, Inactive or Expired, and search by code. Free activations from a 100% code appear in Studio → Management → Payments → Transactions under the Free gateway filter.
