Add-ons are optional capabilities that install on top of MediaCore2. They’re for organisations that need something specific — fan-made clips, a vertical video feed, registration forms, gate tickets, sign-in by mobile number — without every platform carrying it. Read this before you install one, so you know what will change for your staff and your viewers.
What an installed add-on brings
- Its own screens in the Studio, grouped in a Modules section of the sidebar, just above System.
- Public pages and a menu link on your site when the add-on faces viewers — Reels and Ticketing both add one.
- Its own wording, in the languages your site offers.
- Its own permissions in Management → Roles & Permissions, so you can hand it to one person without handing over anything else.
- Your colours and your light or dark mode, so its screens look like the rest of your platform.
- Extra switches on screens you already use where it needs them — Clip adds a switch to every subscription plan, for example.

Add-ons compared with feature switches
Feature switches turn core areas such as Blog, Shop or Radio on and off. Add-ons are installed, and switched on or off, in a different place and by a different person.
