Offer clipping to your subscribers

Switch Clip on for a plan so subscribers can grab and download up to 30 seconds of what they’re watching.

Clip puts a Clip button, a pair of scissors, in your player. A viewer whose plan includes it can save a moment from a live event, an on-demand title, an episode or a live channel and download it as an MP4 video. Fans share a real highlight instead of a shaky screen recording, and because Clip is a plan switch, you decide which tier gets it.

What viewers can do

The clip is prepared in the background. The viewer can close the message and keep watching; when it’s ready they get a Download button and a link to My Clips.

Turn Clip on for a plan

  1. 1
    Install Clip

Install the add-on from System → Plugins with your unlock code. Clip has no Studio screens of its own; it adds switches to screens you already use.

  2. 2
    Open the plan

Go to Studio → Management → Subscription Plans and edit the plan that should include clipping.

  3. 3
    Switch on Includes Clip feature

Turn on Includes Clip feature and save. Your public pricing page now lists Create & download clips for that plan.

Decide about viewers without a plan

To let every signed-in viewer clip, go to System → Settings → Content → Viewer Access and turn on Clip feature under Without a subscription. Leave it off to keep clipping a paid perk.

  2. 2
    Test with a viewer account

Sign in to your site as a subscriber on that plan, open a live event and press Clip. Then open My Clips from the menu and download the result.

The My Clips page

Every clip a viewer makes lands on their My Clips page: a grid with search, Rename, re-download and delete. If Reels is installed and posting is open to them, each clip also has Post as reel. Clips belong to the viewer — they never appear in your Media Library.
