Studio access & your team
Broadcast settings are asking for a separate password
Quick answer
That’s the broadcast console lock, which protects settings that could take a broadcast off air. Enter the console password to unlock for 2 hours. Your staff password won’t work there.
Check this first
- 1Recognise the lock
New feed and New playout are missing, editing a feed offers Rename feed only, or Streaming and Recordings are missing from Settings.
- 2Open the unlock screen
It’s headed Protected and Enter console password. Locked pages don’t link to it, so ask your administrator for the team’s bookmark.
- 3Enter the console password
Type it into Password and select UNLOCK. Opened from a bookmark, the screen then moves you to your Dashboard, so go back to the page you were working on.
- 4Lock it when you’re done
Select the UNLOCKED button on Feeds, Playouts or Pipelines. It reads LOCK NOW as you point at it, and the Studio confirms “Console locked.”
Likely cause and fix
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “Incorrect password.” | You typed your staff password, or an old console password | Ask the person on your team who holds the console password |
| “Insufficient permissions.” when you unlock, or no Feed Console in your sidebar | Your role lacks Channel Console. The password never grants access on its own. | Ask an administrator to tick it on your role |
| The protected buttons vanished mid-session | The 2-hour unlock ran out, or someone signed in to the same account locked the console | Unlock again |
| Nobody on your team knows the password | It’s set for your whole platform, not in Settings | Open a ticket and ask your TKDS account team to set or change it |
