Build teams and player rosters

Create teams under Taxonomy → Teams, add athletes with their player details, and publish the public Teams and Athletes pages.

Athletic directors and content editors use these screens to put a face on every team. Athletes are the people; Teams group them, and one athlete can belong to several teams. Both screens need the Athletes permission and appear only when Is platform sport is on.

Create a team

    Start a new team

    Go to Studio → Taxonomy → Teams and press New team.

    Fill in the basics

    Enter the Name, plus a Description, Website and Phone if you want them on the public page.

    Brand it

    Pick a Logo from the media library. Set a Brand colour, which tints the team card and page header, and a Genre, which visitors can filter teams by.

    Add players

    Under Players, search for existing athletes to add. To add someone new, press NEW PLAYER, enter a name, title, player number, age and gender, and press Add to team.

    Save

    Set Visibility and press Add team.

Add an athlete

    Start a new athlete

    Go to Studio → Taxonomy → Athletes and press Add athlete. Enter the Name and an About biography.

    Fill in player details

    Add a Title (such as “Rising Star Player”), a Position, and optionally Age, GPA (0 to 5), Player number, Gender, Trophy year and Stars (1–5).

    Choose the teams

    Search and add at least one team under Team(s). The form won’t save without one.

    Add pictures and genres

    Pick one or more Genre tags, add Trophy images, and choose the portrait under Image.

    Save

    Set Visibility and press Add athlete. Hidden athletes stay in the Studio but don’t appear on the public site.

Publish the public pages

Both switches are in Studio → System → Settings → Content → Features. Separately, a home page row with the Teams source (Studio → Home → Sections) links to each team’s own page, and that page opens even while the Teams page switch is off.

Team pages that fill themselves

Tag teams and players on events, on-demand titles and articles. Tagged content shows up on the team page in Live Now, Upcoming, On-Demand and Blog sections, plus Reels when that add-on is installed, and empty sections are left out. Tagging a team also shows its players, so you don’t have to tag eleven people for one match. Deleting a team keeps its athletes.
