Set up roster roles
Define the roles your people hold — Players, Coaches, Staff, Referees — and drag them into the order team pages show them.
Roster roles live in Studio → Taxonomy → Roster Positions. On an athlete’s form they’re offered as Position. A team page shows one carousel per role, in the order you set here, so a club can show Players first and Coaches underneath. The screen needs the same Taxonomy permission as Genres, and appears only when Is platform sport is on.
How roles shape a team page
- Each role gets its own row on the team page, labelled with the role name.
- Rows follow your drag order on the Roster Positions screen.
- Athletes with no role are gathered into one general row at the end.
- Each athlete holds one role, which applies on every team they belong to.
Create a role
- 1Start a new position
Go to Studio → Taxonomy → Roster Positions and press New position.
- 2Name it
Enter a Name such as Players, Coaches, Staff, Referees or Presenters. Add a short Description if it helps your editors.
- 3Set visibility and save
Leave Visibility on Active and press Create position. Hidden positions aren’t offered when someone edits an athlete.
- 4Assign it to athletes
Go to Studio → Taxonomy → Athletes, open each person and choose their Position in the Player details card. Save.
Put roles in order
- 1Clear search and filters
Dragging is disabled while a search or status filter is active. The screen says “Clear search & filters to drag-sort”.
- 2Drag the rows
Drag each role into the order you want on team pages. The Studio confirms with “Order saved.”
- 3Check a team page
Open a team’s public page and confirm the rows appear in the new order.
| If you… | Athletes | Team pages |
|---|---|---|
| Rename a role | Keep the role under its new name | The row label changes |
| Reorder roles | Unchanged | Rows follow the new order |
| Delete a role | Keep their profile and lose only this role | Its members move to the general row at the end |
