Connect a venue scoreboard

Link an event to a compatible venue scoreboard system so the score, clock and period flow in with nobody scoring.

Use this when a venue already has connected scoreboard hardware. Once the event is linked to that scoreboard, the numbers on the gym or stadium board reach your viewers without anyone tapping a phone. It suits unattended broadcasts, where an automated camera films the game and nobody from your team is at the venue.

Before you start

  • There’s no platform-wide connection to set up. Each event only needs its scoreboard ID.
  • Get the scoreboard ID for the venue or game from the scoreboard system your venue uses.
  • Make sure Is platform sport is on in Studio → System → Settings → Integrations → Platform.
  1. 1
    Open the event

Go to Studio → Content → Events and open the game.

  2. 2
    Fill in Teams & venue

Enter both teams’ Name, Logo, Color and Position (home/away). The scoreboard sends numbers, not names or crests, so the card needs these from you.

  3. 3
Switch on the venue scoreboard tile

In the Integrations card, switch on the venue scoreboard tile, which carries the scoreboard system’s logo and sits beside the Roku tile. A field for the scoreboard ID appears under it.

  1. 1
    Enter the scoreboard ID

Paste the ID exactly as the scoreboard system shows it. Spaces before or after it are ignored, but a wrong character means no live data.

  2. 2
Save and check on game day

Save the event. Once the board is running, the event page shows the live score, clock and period.

  1. 1
    Open Score Ticker

Go to Studio → Ticker → Score Ticker and open the match, or create one with NEW MATCH.

  2. 2
    Enter the same ID

Switch on the match’s live scores option and enter the scoreboard ID in the game ID field.

  3. 3
    Press Test live

Press TEST LIVE. A confirmation that live data was received means the ID works. A “no live data” message means the ID is wrong or the board isn’t sending yet.
