Use this when a label doesn’t match how your organisation talks: “Events” should read “Fixtures”, “Shop” should be “Pro Shop”, or an error message sounds too blunt. Every interface phrase is editable, with no developer and no release. You need access to Settings.

How phrases are organised

Each phrase has a key — a fixed name the platform uses to find it — a group for the area it belongs to, and one column for each language switched on for your platform. You change the words; the key never changes.

Edit a phrase

  1. 1
    Open Translations

Go to Studio → System → Settings → Locale → Translations.

  2. 2
    Find the phrase

Type the words you can see on your site into Search by key or text. Narrow long results with the group menu, which starts on All groups.

  3. 3
    Edit the row

Click the edit button on the row. A field opens for each language your site uses.

    Save

Change the wording and click the save icon at the end of the row. The new text is live straight away.

    Check it in place

Open your public site and find the phrase where visitors see it. Menu links and buttons have limited room, especially on a phone.
