Build a multi-part title

Use parts when one piece of content arrives as several files: the two halves of a game, a doubleheader, a conference day with morning and afternoon sessions, or the press conference after the final whistle. Viewers get one title, one poster and one page, and move between parts on the watch page. Each part is its own video file — parts aren’t markers inside a single file.

Add parts to a title

   Open the title

   Go to Studio → Content → On-Demand and open a title, or click New video and fill in Identity and Visuals as usual.

   Add the first part

   In the Playlist card, click Add part. A row appears with a title box, a Mins box and a Pick video button.

   Name it

   Type a name such as “First half”. Leave it empty and viewers see “Part 1”, “Part 2” and so on, numbered by position.

   Pick its video

   Click Pick video, choose the file from the media library, and type its length in Mins.

   Repeat and reorder

   Click Add part for each remaining file. Drag a row by its grip handle to change the order; the bin icon removes a part.

   Click SAVE CHANGES.

What changes when a title has parts

• The Video file slot in the Stream card is replaced by a note: “Playlist mode is active — playback uses the parts below.” Remove every part to go back to a single video.
• On the watch page, viewers get a Playlist strip showing how many parts there are, with the one they’re watching badged Now playing.
• Access, artwork, ratings and My List belong to the title as a whole, not to individual parts.

Replays arrive with parts already built

When a live event recorded in several takes becomes a replay, MediaCore2 creates the on-demand title for you and adds each recording as a part, labelled Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 in the order they were recorded. Rename the parts, reorder them or remove a false start in the Playlist card, just as you would on any other title.

Parts or one joined file?

If you’d rather viewers watch one continuous video, Studio → Library → Video Joiner merges files instead: pick two or more videos, drag them into order, name the output and start the join. Then attach the joined file as the title’s Video file.
