Set ratings and editorial scores

On-demand titles and shows each carry two different ratings, and they’re easy to mix up. This page is for the editor filling in the form — and for anyone asked why a title shows 7.4.

How viewer votes work

• Signed-in viewers score an on-demand title from 0 to 10 on an eleven-button strip on its page. Visitors who aren’t signed in are asked to sign in first.
• Each viewer has one vote per title and can change or remove it at any time.
• The average of all votes, rounded to one decimal place, shows on cards and the title page straight away.
• Shows and episodes can’t be voted on. A show’s Rating (0-10) is always the editorial score you set.

Set an editorial score

An editorial score gives a new title a number before anyone has voted — useful for a film with a known critics’ score, or a flagship documentary you want to present well.

   Open the title

   Go to Studio → Content → On-Demand, or Studio → Content → Shows, and open the title.

   Type the score

   In the Identity card, enter a number from 0 to 10 in Rating (0-10). Decimals such as 8.5 are allowed.

   Add the content rating

   Type the advisory label in Content rating in the same card.

   Save

   Click SAVE CHANGES. The score appears on cards and the title page immediately.

What happens when votes arrive

The first viewer vote switches an on-demand title from your score to the audience average. MediaCore2 keeps the score you had set, and shows it again if every vote is later removed.
