Payments & access
A payment option is missing at checkout
Quick answer
Checkout hides any provider that isn’t fully set up, is switched off, can’t take your site’s currency or can’t renew the plan being bought. Start with that provider’s card in Gateways.
Check this first
- 1Open Gateways
Go to Studio → Management → Payments and click Gateways. Read the chip on each card: Ready, Not configured or Disabled.
- 2Test the keys
Expand the card and click TEST CREDENTIALS. You should see “Credentials look good”.
- 3Check what’s being bought
A plan with Auto-renew on, or with free trial days, only offers Stripe and Square. PayPal is hidden.
- 4Check the currency
Square only appears when your Square location’s currency matches your site currency in Studio → System → Settings → Locale → Region.
Likely cause → fix
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The card’s chip says Not configured | A required key is missing | Paste every key from your provider’s dashboard, click SAVE, then TEST CREDENTIALS. |
| The card’s chip says Disabled | Enable this gateway is off | Switch it on and click SAVE. |
| PayPal is missing on one plan only | The plan renews automatically or has a free trial, and PayPal takes one-time payments only | Expected. Connect Stripe or Square for plans that renew. |
| Square is missing everywhere | Your Square location uses a different currency from your site | Make the two currencies match. |
| Square is missing only on renewing plans | Webhook signature key is empty on the Square card | Fill in every field on the Square card, including Webhook signature key, and click SAVE. |
| Buyers see “No payment methods configured” | No enabled provider can take this purchase | Enable a provider. For a renewing plan, use Stripe or Square. |
