Payments & access
An applicant can’t pay a form fee
Quick answer
A fee needs a connected provider that takes your site’s currency, and a monthly fee can only be paid with Stripe. An unpaid submission waits as Awaiting payment, and the applicant can submit the form again.
Check this first
- 1Check your providers
In Studio → Management → Payments → Gateways, at least one provider should read Ready.
- 2Check the fee type
Open the form’s settings. With Charge this every month on, only Stripe is offered.
- 3Find the submission
In Studio → Modules → Forms → Responses, filter by the form and look for Awaiting payment.
- 4Find the payment
Form fees are listed on the Forms tab in Studio → Management → Payments.
Likely cause → fix
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No way to pay on the form | No provider is enabled, or Square’s currency doesn’t match your site | Enable a provider, or match your Square location’s currency to your site currency. |
| No way to pay on a monthly fee | Monthly fees can only be paid with Stripe, and Stripe isn’t Ready | Connect Stripe, or switch Charge this every month off. |
| A code is refused | The code’s Form fees section is off, it’s limited to other forms, or the fee is monthly | Open the code in Studio → Management → Coupons and switch Form fees on. Codes can’t discount a monthly fee. |
| The submission is stuck on Awaiting payment | The applicant left before paying, or the payment wasn’t confirmed | Ask them to submit the form again. An unpaid attempt doesn’t block One response per email. |
| “You have already submitted this form.” | One response per email is on and that address already has a submission that went through | Expected. Review the existing submission in Responses. |
| The payment page refuses a small fee | The fee is below your provider’s minimum charge | Raise the Amount. |
