Use this when you launch a new station or bring an existing one onto your platform. You type three things — an ID, a name and an optional image. Everything a listener sees while the station plays (the live stream, the track that’s on now, recent tracks, the listener count and whether a presenter is live) is pulled from your station’s streaming details automatically.

Before you start

  • The Radio switch is on in Studio → System → Settings → Content → Features. When it’s off, the Radio page, its navigation link and Studio → Radio all disappear, but your stations are kept.
  • Your role includes the Radio Stations permission.
  • You have the station ID from your station’s streaming details. Each station has its own.
  • Optional: a square station image uploaded to Studio → Library → Media Library.

Add the station

  1. 1
    Open Stations

Go to Studio → Radio → Stations and click New station.

  2. 2
    Enter the Station ID

Type the ID exactly as it appears in your station’s streaming details. This is what connects the card to the right stream.

  3. 3
    Name the station

Fill in Station Name. It’s the label listeners see on station cards and in the player, so keep it short: “Eagles Sports Radio”, not a slogan.

  4. 4
    Add artwork

Under Custom Station Image, click PICK IMAGE and choose from your media library. Leave it empty to use the artwork that comes with the station’s streaming details.

  5. 5
    Set the status

Choose Active to show the station on your Radio page, or Inactive to hide it without deleting anything.

  6. 6
    Create it

Click CREATE. The station appears in the list straight away.

Test the connection

  1. 1
    Open the saved station

Click the station in Studio → Radio → Stations. The test only appears once the station has been saved.

  2. 2
    Click TEST

The result appears beside the button: Reachable means the stream answered. Anything else means the station can’t be played yet.

  3. 3
    Listen for yourself

Open your public Radio page, press play on the station and let it run for a minute before you promote it.

Order and tidy your stations

Drag a station by its handle to reorder the list. The order saves as soon as you drop it, and your Radio page uses the same order. Use the search box and the status filter to find a station, or tick several and delete them in one go.
