Comments aren’t showing on my site
Quick answer
Comments are off until an administrator switches them on. With Auto-approve comments off, every new comment waits in Pending, and only its author sees it until someone approves it.
Check this first
- 1Check the switch
In Studio → System → Settings → Content → Features, check Event comments for event watch pages and Blog comments for articles. Both start off.
- 2Check the queue
Open Studio → Library → Comments and look at the Pending tab.
- 3Check where they’re looking
Comments appear on articles and on event watch pages. On-demand titles, shows and episodes don’t have comments.
- 4Check they’re signed in
Visitors who aren’t signed in see “Log in to join the conversation.” instead of a comment box.
Likely cause → fix
| What you see | Why | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No comment section at all | The comments switch, or the Events or Blog module, is off | Switch it on and save. |
| The author sees “Your comment is awaiting approval.”; nobody else sees it | Auto-approve comments is off | Approve it on the Pending tab. |
| A comment that was visible has gone | A moderator rejected or deleted it | Look on the Rejected tab; a rejected comment can be approved. Deleted comments are gone. |
| A comment is missing from your vMix lower-thirds | Only approved comments go on air | Approve it. |
| Moderators aren’t told about new comments | The alert goes to staff whose role can moderate comments, and staff comments don’t trigger it | Check the role in Studio → Management → Roles & Permissions. |
