Playback & viewers
A viewer can’t find a video, show, event or article
Quick answer
Content leaves your public site when its module is switched off, when it’s Inactive or a Draft, or when it’s outside its time window. Check those in that order.
Check this first
- 1Check the module
In Studio → System → Settings → Content → Features, confirm the module (Events, Shows, On-Demand, Blog and so on) reads On.
- 2Check the item’s status
On-demand titles and shows need Active on. Events need Status set to ACTIVE. Articles and site pages need to be Published, not Draft.
- 3Check the time window
Ended events retire and leave the public lists. Scheduled articles appear at their publish time on your platform’s clock.
- 4Look as a visitor
Search for it in a private window, signed out, after a minute or two.
Likely cause → fix
| What’s missing | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A whole section and its menu link | The module is switched off | Switch it on and save. Switching off hides content; it never deletes it. |
| One on-demand title or show | Active is off | Switch Active on under Publishing and save. |
| An event that aired | Its end time passed, so it retired and left the public lists | Point viewers to the replay in your on-demand catalogue. |
| An event that isn’t in the homepage hero | It falls outside the Hero timeframe | Widen Hero timeframe in Studio → Home → Sliders. |
| An article | It’s a Draft, or scheduled for later | Publish it, or check its publish time on your platform’s clock. |
| A site page | It’s a Draft, or hidden from the footer | Set it to Published and Visible in footer in Studio → Library → Pages. |
| Something you published a moment ago | Listings catch up within a minute, the homepage within two | Wait, then reload. |
