Place banner and video ads
Fill the eight website banner placements, add video ad breaks and in-player banners, and choose which plans skip video ads.
On this page
Use this when you sell sponsorship or run an ad network. Website banners live under Studio → Marketing → Web Ads. Video ad breaks and in-player banners live in your settings. Mobile app banners have their own screen, covered in Mobile ads.

Fill a placement
- 1Open Web Ads
Go to Studio → Marketing → Web Ads. You need the Web banner ads permission.
- 2Expand a placement
Click a placement card. Its pill reads Live, Empty (switched on but nothing to show) or Off.
- 3Switch it on
Turn on Enable this placement. When it’s off, nothing renders there.
- 4Choose the type
Pick Iframe / HTML to paste ad-network or sponsor code, Image banner to use a picture, or the third type for an automatic live score strip that needs no setup.
- 5Add the image and link
For an image, click Pick from media library (970×250 or 728×90 recommended), then turn on Make image clickable and enter the Link URL.
- 6Save
Click Save changes at the top or bottom of the page. All eight placements save together.
Blog sidebar banners
Below the placements, Blog Sidebar Banners stacks up to 6 banners beside your articles on large screens. Click Add banner, choose image or embed, use the enabled toggle to pause one, and click Save banners. A tall image works best, such as 300×600.
Add video ad breaks
- 1Open Video Ads
Go to Studio → System → Settings → Content → Video Ads.
- 2Switch a break on
On Pre-roll, Mid-roll or Post-roll, tick Enable this break.
- 3Add the ad
Paste a video file link or your ad server’s tag into Ad URL (MP4 / HLS / VAST), or click LIBRARY to pick a video you uploaded.
- 4Set the skip button
Enter seconds in Skip button appears after. 0 makes the ad non-skippable; the default is 5.
- 5Time the mid-roll
Set Live — repeat every (minutes) (default 20) and Recorded — play at (% of duration) (default 50).
- 6Preview and save
Add an optional Impression tracking URL, use Preview ad for video files, then click Save changes.
| Break | Recorded video | Live broadcast |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-roll | Plays once before the video starts | Plays once before the stream starts |
| Mid-roll | Plays once at the percentage you set | Repeats at the interval you set |
| Post-roll | Plays when the video ends | Plays when the broadcast ends |
In-player banners, on the same tab, rotate image or iframe banners along the bottom of the player during playback. Viewers can close or click them. Add each one with the Image or Iframe button and give image banners a click-through link. Video ads are one setting for the whole site, not per event; for each break in detail, see Pre-roll and mid-roll ads.
Make a plan ad-free
